Seafirst Stadium To Receive Face Lift
The new-look Spokane Indians are receiving a new look.
The Indians and Spokane County on Thursday announced a series of renovations that will be funded by both parties.
Changes include additional reserved seats, new skyboxes, a new light pole and renovation of the administrative offices.
Work should be completed by June 17 - Spokane’s Northwest League home opener - except the office improvements, which will begin after the season ends.
The Indians recently ended a 12-year relationship with the San Diego Padres by signing a four-year agreement with the Kansas City Royals.
When the Royals’ selections in the amateur draft make it to Spokane in June, Seafirst Stadium will have received a face lift.
“The improvements made to Seafirst Stadium add to everyone’s enjoyment of events at the stadium,” said Indians general manager Andy Billig. “Every year we accomplish a little more, and the result is that Spokane has one of the best minor-league stadiums in the country.”
The projects are a continuation of a decade-long, public-private partnership to improve the stadium.
