Escaped Teens Recaptured By Wsp

From Staff And Wire Reports

Two teen girls at Echo Glen Children’s Center - one a convicted murderer - were recaptured early Saturday, hours after they escaped while on an outing.

Denise Boyer and Summer Many White Horses, both 17, were trying to hitch a ride when they were picked up by Washington State Patrol troopers about 1:30 a.m. along Interstate 90 near North Bend, said Mike Wilcox, an Echo Glen juvenile rehabilitation supervisor.

Boyer was serving time at Echo Glen for first-degree murder in Benton County, said Echo Glen spokeswoman Shana Hormann. Boyer had been an accomplice when a man was slain by her male companion during a home burglary.

Many White Horses was at Echo Glen for a felony assault conviction in Yakima County.
