Kellogg Woman Hurt In Traffic Accident

From Staff Reports

A Kellogg woman was thrown from her pickup early Monday on Interstate 90 east of Medical Lake after she fell asleep, authorities said.

Laura North, 27, was in critical condition late Monday at Sacred Heart Medical Center, a nursing supervisor said.

North was driving eastbound on I-90 when she fell asleep at 5:20 a.m., drove off to one side, then overcorrected the 1988 Ford pickup, which hit a median and rolled, the Washington State Patrol said.

She was not wearing a seat belt, the WSP said.

North was flown by helicopter from the accident scene to Sacred Heart.
