Sheriff Looks For Missing Woman

From Staff And Wire Reports

The Stevens County Sheriff’s Department is appealing to the public for information about a missing Spokane woman who may have drowned June 30 in Loon Lake.

Pearlyne Gimeno, 33, was last seen swimming behind her boat near Granite Point about 4:30 p.m. during a family outing.

Authorities suspect she drowned, but extensive searches by divers found no trace of her body.

Sheriff Craig Thayer said he is pursuing a slim possibility that something else may have happened to Gimeno.

“There is no indication of foul play at this time,” Thayer said.

He said Gimeno took a boat onto the lake alone. Her husband, Rick, and her children remained ashore.

Family members didn’t see what happened to Gimeno.

Gimeno is 5 feet 2, 115 pounds, with blue eyes and blonde hair.

Anyone with information about her should call the Stevens County Sheriff’s Department at 1-800-572-0947.
