Library Hearing Scheduled

The Spokane Public Library and the city’s Park Board have scheduled a public hearing on plans for the new library branch at Shadle Park.

The hearing is set for 7 p.m. Wednesday at the existing neighborhood library in the Shadle Shopping Center, at Alberta and Wellesley.

The purpose of the hearing is to present the external schematic design of the new Shadle Library, set for construction next year in the northwest corner of Shadle Park.

Officials will also discuss improvements to the park, which would be paid for by library funds.

Architects for the project and members of the city’s park and library boards will be available to answer questions regarding the project.
