Motors Cut On Rivers

Motorized watercraft have been banned on sections of three major Montana rivers, the state Fish, Wildlife and Parks commission announced recently.

The ban includes:

Blackfoot River from headwaters to Stimson Lumber Dam.

Upper Clark Fork River above Milltown Reservoir.

Lower Clark Fork River from St. Johns FAS to mouth of Fish Creek.

Entire Bitterroot River with two exceptions: Open to motors May 1-June 30 from Florence Bridge to confluence with Clark Fork, and open to motors of 15 horsepower or less Oct. 1-Jan. 31.
