Nellie Hamilton Spokane

Memorial service for Nellie C. Hamilton, 86, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Central Baptist Church. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of cremation.

Mrs. Hamilton, a 14-year Spokane resident, died Thursday.

She was born in Jefferson City, Mo., and was a homemaker.

Her husband, George Hamilton, died in 1986.

She is survived by two sons, Myron Hamilton of Newman Lake and George Hamilton of Alpharetto, Ga.; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

William Wise Spokane

Memorial service for William C. Wise, 81, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Pines Mausoleum. Private inurnment will be at Pines Cemetery. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Elk, Mr. Wise died Friday.

He worked for various contractors as a carpenter and roofer and retired in 1976.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Al Wise; three daughters, Frances Woods and Paula Clark, both of Spokane, and Sherry Williams of Bakersfield, Calif.; six sons, Bill Wise of Tacoma, Bob Wise and Homer and Glen Burson, all of Spokane, Rusty Burson and Roy Burson, both of Vancouver, Wash.; two sisters, Ida Guarisco and Eleanor Wakley, both of Spokane; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jonathan Work Seattle

Memorial service for Jonathan Woodward Work, 22, is planned for 7 p.m. Thursday at Unity Church of Truth.

Mr. Work committed suicide Aug. 10 in Seattle where he had lived since earlier this year.

He was born in Spokane and was a student at Lewis and Clark High School through his junior year. He graduated from Hanford High School in Richland in 1991.

He had been a junior at Whitman College in Walla Walla and had attended Washington State University.

He worked in Walla Walla for the Umatilla Forest Service on the Eastside Ecosystem Management Team. He had also worked with the Regional Youth Service Corps in the Tri-Cities and as a river guide on the Rogue River in Oregon.

He moved to Seattle earlier this year and had been working in Seattle and Bellingham.

He is survived by his parents, Jerry and Sharon Work of the Tri-Cities; three brothers, Steve Work of Bellingham, Ron Work of San Clemente, Calif., and Alex Work of Seattle; his grandparents, Clare and Edna Mae Woodward of Portland and Judy Work of Richland.

Memorial contributions may be to the Jonathan Woodward Work memorial fund in care of Whitman College, Walla Walla, WA 99362, to be used for student projects for the preservation of natural habitat environments.
