Four Newspaper Strikers Arrested
Four striking newspaper workers were arrested during a series of clashes with police as several hundred pickets tried to prevent delivery of the Detroit Sunday papers, police said.
The run-in Saturday night was the latest in a series of such clashes at a plant where The Detroit News and the Detroit Free Press have been printing joint editions since workers went on strike July 13.
Three people were arrested on misdemeanor charges of obstructing officers and disorderly conduct. A warrant charged the fourth man with assault and destruction of property, both felonies, police said.
