Premature Explosion Kills Islamic Militants

Five Islamic militants were killed when a bomb they were carrying exploded prematurely, security forces said Sunday.

Ten other people were injured and seven homes were damaged in the explosion Saturday night in Boufarik, 15 miles south of the capital, the security forces said in a statement.

Two weeks ago, three militants and eight motorists were killed in a similar blast outside a power plant in the same city.
