Helen Pratt Milan, Wash.

Service for Helen Marie Pratt, 80, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Country Church of the Open Bible in Elk. Burial will be at Elk Cemetery No. 1. Lauer Funeral Home in Deer Park is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Pratt, a longtime Milan resident, died Monday.

A homemaker, she was born in Summit, Idaho.

She was a member of the Bethlehem Chapter No. 87, Order of Eastern Star.

Her husband, Jesse Pratt, died in 1980.

She is survived two daughters, Dolores Blake of Elk and Lorraine Miles of Oklahoma; one brother, Frank Dahm of Spokane; nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Clara Wardrop Scottsdale, Ariz.

Memorial service for Clara Christine (Green) Wardrop, 91, will be at 7 p.m. Saturday at Mountain View Presbyterian Church in Scottsdale, Ariz. Messinger Mortuary in Scottsdale is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Wardrop died Sunday at Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix.

She was born in Alsen, S.D., and moved to Spokane in 1922. She worked for Bell Telephone Co.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the El Karnak Temple and the Daughters of the Nile.

She moved to Arizona two years ago.

She is survived by one daughter, SusannJohnson of Scottsdale; two sisters, Edith Roberts of Litchfield, Minn., and Stella King of Spokane; and three grandchildren.

Dan Schneider St. John, Wash.

Service for Danny Raymond Schneider, 52, was held Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Endicott, Wash. Burial will be at Endicott Cemetery. Bruning Funeral Home in Colfax, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Schneider, who died Tuesday, was born in Colfax.

He graduated from St. John High School and worked as a farmer.

He had wintered in San Diego for the past few years.

Mr. Schneider was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the St. John Golf and Country Club.

He is survived by two sons, David Schneider of Spokane and Loren Schneider of St. John; one daughter, Sherrilyn Schneider of Orlando, Fla.; his parents, Ray and Alvina Schneider of St. John; one brother, Clifford “Ted” Schneider of Yonkers, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children or St. John Fire Department and Emergency Medical Technicians.

Paul Rice Kettle Falls, Wash.

Memorial services for Paul D. Rice, 75, is set for 11 a.m. Friday at Danekas Funeral Chapel in Colville.

Mr. Rice, who died Monday, was born in Minnesota.

He served in the merchant marine and, during World War II, in the Army. He received a Purple Heart.

He moved to Spokane in 1960 and worked for Great Northern Railway.

He and his wife, Shirley, moved to Kettle Falls in 1983.

Mr. Rice was a member of the Retired Great Northern Railway Employees.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Susan Grenon of Phoenix, Ariz.; three stepsons, Michael Shaw of Vashon Island, Wash., Randall Shaw of Hopkinton, Mass., and Patrick Shaw of Seattle; and one sister, Jean Blehm of Stillwater, Minn.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Buena Vista Nursing Home Activity Center.

Vie Iff Spokane

Graveside service for Violet Belle Iff, 83, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Riverside Memorial Park. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Iff, who died Monday, was born in Spokane and graduated from North Central High School and Northwestern Business College.

She earned a degree from Spokane Community College and worked at a Goodwill store and later at The Crescent. She retired in 1970.

She had been a ballad singer on radio station KFIO and was a stage performer at the old Pantages Theatre on Howard Street. She also appeared in the stage production of “Victory Dawn,” starring Helen Hayes, in New York City.

Mrs. Iff returned to Spokane when she was 21 and married Franklin Mason. He died in 1951.

Her second husband, Ed Iff, died in 1970.

She is survived by two sons, Eldon Mason of Elliot Bay, Wash., and R.B. Mason of Idaho; two daughters, Elzada Mayne of Seattle and Ardelle Peele of Spokane; 27 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Anna Clodius Coeur d’Alene

Service for Anna M. Clodius, 93, will be Monday at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene. Burial will follow at the Ritzville Cemetery in Ritzville, Wash. Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Clodius, who was born in Ritzville, died Tuesday at Pinewood Care Center in Coeur d’Alene.

She married Carl Clodius in Ritzville in 1924 and they operated a grocery store. They moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1941 and owned and operated Clodius Grocery on Sherman Avenue.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Coeur d’Alene, and sang in the choir. She had also served on the board of deacons and as president of the Women’s Association. She was past president of the Ladies of Kiwanis and the Federated Women’s Association.

Mrs. Clodius was preceded in death by her husband in 1983.

Survivors include her son, Gerald Clodius of San Jose, Calif.; one brother, John Hoefel of Ritzville; two grandchildren, three greatgrandchildren, one great-greatgrandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Violet Jarrett Spokane

Service for Violet P. Jarrett, 68, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at ShermanKnapp Funeral Home in Newport, Wash., with burial to follow at the Newport Cemetery.

Mrs. Jarrett, a former Elk resident, died Wednesday.

Born in Bayview, Idaho, Mrs. Jarrett moved to Elk in the early 1930s.

She graduated from Newport High School and worked for a Vancouver, Wash., plywood company during World War II.

She worked for Arden Dairy Farms during the 1950s, as a housekeeper at Deer Park Hospital from 1970 to 1974, and for Sacred Heart Hospital in the laundry department from 1974 to 1979, when she retired.

Mrs. Jarrett was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Riverside Ward.

Her husbands preceded her in death: Hughie Fenton in 1974 and William Jarrett in 1988.

Survivors include two sons, Steven and Michael Fenton, both of Spokane; one daughter, Sharon Miller of Deer Park; three stepsons, Dewey Jarrett of Alaska, Lawrence Jarrett of San Diego and Brian Jarrett of Fallon, Nev.; three stepdaughters, Kathy Gross and Billie Sue Hall, both of Spokane, and Amy Hicks of Ohio; two brothers, Charles Richards of Eugene, Ore., and Harold Richards of Newport; and five grandchildren.

Martha Norton Spokane

Graveside service for Martha H. Norton, 89, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hunt Cemetery in Kingston, Idaho. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Norton, who died Friday, was born in Butte, Mont.

She was a homemaker and a 22-year Spokane resident.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Her husband, Melvin Norton, preceded her in death.

She is survived by two sisters, Mary Hill of Mullan, Idaho, and Lillian Garvin of Camarillo, Calif.

Emery Wincentsen Spokane

Service for Emery Wincentsen, 77, will be at 1 p.m. today at First Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Wincentsen, who died Saturday, was born in Aniwa, Wis.

He came to Spokane in 1955 from Butte, Mont.

He served in World War II in the Army and received a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star.

Mr. Wincentsen was a printer at the First Presbyterian Church and had retired from the Postal Service.

He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Carmen; three sons, Bob Goodheart, Tom Wincentsen and Bill Wincentsen; four daughters, Janet LePage, Lois Quinn, Gail Hatch and Isis; one brother, Irving Wincentsen of Blooming Prairie, Minn.; one sister, Olene Wincentsen; 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Roland ‘Ben’ Penna Spokane

Service for Roland “Ben” Penna, 77, will be at 11 a.m. today at Holy Cross Cemetery Chapel. Burial will follow. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Penna, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Tuesday.

He worked at Kaiser Aluminum in Trentwood and was a World War II Army veteran.

Mr. Penna was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars No. 1435, the Eagles Lodge No. 2, and the Retired Kaiser Foremen’s Association.

He is survived by two brothers, Tony and Roy Penna of Spokane; and four sisters, Edith Lowe of Cashmere, Wash., Mary Jean Johnson and Dorothy Draggoo, both of Spokane, and Virginia Rudd of Virginia.

Frances Musgrave Spokane

Memorial service for Frances Musgrave, 84, is planned for 7 p.m. today at Southside Assembly of God Church. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Musgrave, who died Tuesday, was born McKeesport, Pa., and had lived in Spokane for 11 years.

She was a homemaker.

Her husband, Real Musgrave, died in 1987.

She is survived by one daughter, Joyce Foedisch of Spokane; two sons, Frank Daugherty of Longmont, Colo., and Jim Daugherty of Englewood, Colo.; two stepsons, Frank Musgrave of Elizabeth, Colo., and Albert Musgrave of Dallas; 23 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.

Roberta Bongarts Oakesdale, Wash.

Memorial service for Roberta Bongarts, 67, will be at 9 a.m. today at Community Presbyterian Church in Oakesdale. Inurnment will follow at Oakesdale Cemetery. Bruning Funeral Home in Colfax, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Bongarts died Saturday at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.

She was born in Oakesdale, where she graduated from high school.

She and her husband, Paul, lived in Springdale, Wash., where they farmed for a few years. They returned to Oakesdale and took over her father’s farming operation.

Mrs. Bongarts was a member of Community Presbyterian Church, the Oakesdale Grange and the Hazel Rebekah Lodge.

She is survived by three daughters, Paula Shamway of Prosser, Wash., Glenna Haskin of Medical Lake and Dianna Ewing of Oakesdale; one sister, Marion Bongarts of Oakesdale; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Gordon Lindeen Pullman

Service for Gordon R. Lindeen, 87, is planned for 1:30 p.m. today at Kimball Funeral Home in Pullman. Burial will be at Pullman City Cemetery.

Mr. Lindeen, who died Monday at Palouse Hills Nursing Center in Pullman, was born in St. Paul, Minn.

He and his wife, Jeanne, moved to Spokane from Minneapolis in 1929. He worked for Sunshine Biscuit Co. from 1930 to 1954.

They moved to Pullman in 1955 and he received a bachelor’s degree from Washington State University. He worked for the Pullman School District No. 267 from 1956 to 1975.

In 1960 he received a master’s degree from WSU. He taught general education degree classes in Colfax and Pullman from 1977 to 1982.

Mr. Lindeen served on the board of the Washington Education Association and was a member of the Whitman County Council on Aging, Pullman, the National and Retired Teachers Associations, the Pullman Chamber of Commerce and the Pullman Senior Center.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years; one son, Gordon Lindeen Jr. of Simi Valley, Calif.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Vernon Stone Touchet, Wash.

Graveside inurnment for I. Vernon Stone, 67, is set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Newport Cemetery. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Stone, a former Spokane resident, died Monday.

He was born in North Dakota and had lived in Spokane from 1952 to 1991, when he moved to Touchet. He was a scrap metal recycler.

He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Mr. Stone is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jennie Stone; three sons, Rod and Larry Stone, both of Spokane, and Mike Stone of Touchet; three daughters, Bonnie Overton of Georgia, Sharon Darvell of Kelso, Wash., and Carol Vaughn of Touchet; two brothers, Ray Stone of Kelso and Floyd Stone of Longview, Wash.; two sisters, Dorothy Moyer of Kelso and Shirley Wahl of Colville, Wash.; 23 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
