“Mozart on the Mountain” an annual performance by the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra in the splendor of the Canadian Rockies, is next Sunday at Nakiska ski resort, 40 minutes outside Calgary. For information, call the Calgary Convention and Visitors Bureau at (800) 661-1678 or (403) 263-8510.
Short takes: Bits and pieces from around the Northwest:
British Columbia has available a free guide to marine-oriented vacations in the province, from sailing, power boating and fishing to kayaking, scuba diving and wildlife watching. For a copy of the Marine Vacations Guide, call (800) 663-6000.
Fishy float: Mount Robson Adventure Holidays is offering the opportunity to watch spawning salmon on a gentle raft trip on the Fraser River in British Columbia.

Ski stuff: News for powder fans who just can’t wait:
Big Sky, in southwest Montana, is adding four new lifts for the 1995-96 season, including a 15-passenger summit lift that will give the resort the most total vertical feet of skiing in the United States: 4,180 feet.
Its ski season is scheduled to begin Nov. 22. For information, call (800) 548-4486.
Apex resort, in southern British Columbia, is evidently anticipating more conflict with three Indian tribes over planned development at the resort.
