Train Slaughters Sheep On Tracks

Compiled From Wire Services

A suburban train plowed into a flock of wayward sheep and killed 87 of them.

Police were still looking Saturday for the shepherd who let the flock of about 100 animals wander onto the rail line in the Pankow district of eastern Berlin late Friday.

A train with five passenger cars hit the flock, killing 75 sheep outright and injuring 12 so badly that police had to shoot them.
