Issaquah Superintendent Placed On Leave

Compiled From Wire Services

The Issaquah School Board voted unanimously Monday to place Superintendent William Stewart on paid administrative leave indefinitely.

He faces criminal charges of harassing the then-husband of a schoolteacher with whom he was allegedly having an affair. He faces a civil lawsuit over the same allegations. Some parents had urged that he resign.

School Board President David Irons would not say whether Stewart was asked to resign.
