Albert Scott Moulton Jr. Sagle, Idaho

A benefit celebrating the life of Albert Scott Moulton Jr., 44, will be held on Thursday at the Panida Theater in Sandpoint. Private family service has been held. Coffelt Funeral Service in Sandpoint is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Moulton, a successful musician, died Aug. 22 in Sagle.

He was born in Stoneham, Mass., and grew up in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. He moved to Hawaii in the early 1980s and worked as a composer and entertainer, living on the island of Kaui.

Mr. Moulton married Margie Horvitz in Kaui in 1987 and moved to Sagle four years ago.

He had worked for KPND Radio in Sandpoint as a host for a Sunday morning radio show.

He loved nature and enjoyed his property.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Survivors include his wife, at home; his parents, Albert and Doris Moulton of New Hampshire; one brother, John Moulton of New Mexico; and one sister, Joanne Moulton of North Carolina.

Gary Churchill Sagle, Idaho

Graveside memorial service for Gary Lee Churchill, 45, will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Westmond Cemetery in Westmond, Idaho. Coffelt Funeral Service in Sandpoint is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Churchill died Thursday from injuries he suffered in an automobile accident.

He was born in Sandpoint and attended Sagle grade school, and graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1972.

He worked as a self-employed mechanic and loved baseball and hunting.

He was preceded in death by his father in 1986.

Survivors include his son and daughter, David Churchill and Jennifer Churchill, both of Moscow, Idaho; his mother, Gladys “Pat” Churchill of Sagle; and grandmother, Olive Churchill of Portland.

Margaret Grigajtis Spokane

No service will be held for Margaret C. Grigajtis, 72.

Mrs. Grigajtis, who was born in Spokane, died Saturday.

She had lived in Spokane for 66 years, and was a member of American Legion Auxiliary and the Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Charles Grigajtis; one son, Charles Grigajtis of Spokane; one daughter, Tonia Lynn Bovee of Yuma, Ariz; two sisters, Stella Grigajtis and Florence Cywark, both of Buffalo, N.Y.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Homer Jensen Spokane

Service for Homer J. Jensen, 67, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Riplinger Funeral Home. Cremation will follow services.

Mr. Jensen, who died Saturday, was born in Magrath, Alberta.

He was a member of the Teamsters Local No. 690, and had lived in Spokane for more than 49 years.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1474.

His wife, Marie Jean, died in 1971.

He is survived by one son, Richard Jensen of Spokane; two daughters, Kathy Regis of Spokane and Linda Tonkin of Anchorage, Alaska; three sisters, Melvina of Candston, Alberta, Erma Cummins of Spokane and Cleo of Wyoming; two brothers, Frank Jensen of Calgary, Alberta, and Jerry Jensen of California; and five grandchildren.

Philip Tagariello Spokane

Funeral Mass for Philip J. Tagariello, 61, is set for 2 p.m. today at St. Charles Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Tagariello, who died Saturday, was born in Spokane.

He graduated from Gonzaga Prep and worked as a telephone installer.

He was a member of the Eagles, the Knights of Columbus and the American Italian Club. He was also a member of St. Charles Catholic Church.

His wife, Joann “Patty” Tagariello, died in 1994.

He is survived by three sons, Philip and Michael Tagariello, both of Spokane, and Daniel Tagariello of Atlanta; two daughters, Connie McGovern of Spokane and Kathleen Tagariello of Atlanta; two sisters, Margaret Powers and Julie Powers, both of Spokane; and seven grandchildren.

Eula Walker Spokane

Visitation for Eula M. Walker, 93, will be today from 9 a.m. till noon at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene. Graveside service will follow at 1 p.m. at the Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Walker, who was born in Orting, Wash., died Saturday in Spokane.

She married Warren Walker in Spokane in 1918. He died in 1974.

Survivors include three grandsons, Marc Batters, Randy Buehler and Steven Buehler, all of Spokane; one granddaughter, Cheryl Kerbe of Skysville, Md.; and three great-granddaughters, Danette, Angelique and Michelle Buehler, all of Spokane.

Catherine DeSmeth Spokane

Vigil service for Catherine Lohrenz DeSmeth, 79, will be at 7 p.m. today at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Funeral Mass is set for 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. DeSmeth, who died Saturday, was a lifetime Spokane resident.

She graduated from Holy Names Academy and Washington State University, and was a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, St. Monica’s Guild, St. Margaret’s Church Group, and was active with St. Joseph’s Children’s Home.

She was also a member of the Spokane Club and the Hayden Lake Country Club.

Her husband, John DeSmeth, died in 1978.

She is survived by one son, John DeSmeth of Ventura, Calif.; two daughters, Sue Ann DeSmeth and Kathey Lundberg of Spokane; one sister, Cleta Keane of Richland; and four grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Sisters of the Holy Names, The Poor Clare Nuns or Morning Star Boy’s Ranch.

Myrtle Mottaz Spokane

Service for Myrtle C. Mottaz, 79, is set for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Messiah Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Mottaz, who died Thursday, was born in Spokane.

She worked in the accounting department at Washington Water Power.

She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church and the Women of Washington Water Power.

Mrs. Mottaz is survived by her husband, Walter; two sons, Robert Mottaz of Portland and Brian Mottaz of Seattle; and three grandchildren.

Lois McCray Colfax, Wash.

Memorial service for Lois McCray, 57, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Church of the Nazarene in Spokane. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. McCray, who died Saturday, was born in Spokane.

She had lived in Colfax for 30 years and was a nurse.

She is survived by her husband, Dick McCray; two daughters, Colleen McCray of Spokane and Stephanie McCray-Smolen of Seattle; one sister, Ruth Ellison of Aberdeen, Wash.; and one brother, Glen Salmon of Chewelah, Wash.

Memorial contributions may be made to Whitman County Hospital.

Katherine Graf Spokane

Vigil service for Katherine R. “Kay” Graf, 82, is set for 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Anthony Catholic Church with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mrs. Graf, who died Saturday, was born in Glasgow, Mont. She had lived in Spokane for 67 years and was a homemaker.

She was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church where she had been a member of the Altar Society and the guild.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Peter Graf.

Florence Constantine Deer Park

Graveside service for Florence I. Constantine, 90, will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Deer Park. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Constantine, who died Friday, was born in Xenia, Ohio.

A homemaker, she had lived in Deer Park and Elk for 52 years.

She farmed with her husband in Kennewick and the Elk area and was active in local granges.

Her husband, A. L. Constantine, died in 1981.

She is survived by one son, David Constantine of Spokane; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons.

John Sweeney Spokane

Trisagion service for John R. Sweeney, 76, is set for 7 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church with burial to follow at Pines Cemetery.

Mr. Sweeney, who died Friday, was born in Kenyon, Minn.

He lived in Spokane for 37 years and was a high school English teacher for 28 years.

He was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, the Masons, the Elks and Moose Lodges, Alumni of Carlton College and the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association.

Mr. Sweeney was active with the Boy Scouts and coached for a Kiwanis Little League baseball team.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Mary Sweeney; two sons, Kelly Sweeney of Whidbey Island, Wash., and Andrew Sweeney of Spokane; one brother, Mike Sweeney of Antioch, Calif.; and four sisters, Lola Goar of Duluth, Minn., Violet Jeske of Portland, Kay Wheeler of Whitefish, Mont., and Sandy Smith of Faribault, Minn.
