Caterpillar, Uaw Resume Negotiations
Caterpillar Inc. and the United Auto Workers resumed contract negotiations Tuesday but refused to say whether the talks moved them any closer to ending a 14-month strike.
The two sides met for about two hours before recessing until today. Neither side would comment on the talks, keeping silent on whether the UAW had made a new contract proposal.
Caterpillar had demanded that after negotiations collapsed earlier this year.
The UAW has said it is striking over unfair labor practices by management.
