Red Iron Building New Complex Here

From Staff And Wire Reports

Red Iron Corp. is building a $1.3 million shop and office complex at E2401 Brooklyn.

Vice President Ray Johnson said the steel fabrication company’s present facility at E1418 Houston is too small, and there is no space on surrounding property for expansion.

The new plant, due to open Nov. 1, will encompass 50,480 square feet on 20 acres. “It gives us enough room to operate,” Johnson said.

He said Red Iron, with about 40 employees, may continue to lease its existing site.

Red Iron sells steel in the Northwest, Alaska and Hawaii.

The new site is being developed for Red Iron by Brooklyn Industries Inc., a real estate concern with common ownership.
