Truck Tips Over, Blocks Traffic

A Spokane Transit Authority dump truck loaded with sand overturned Thursday on Market Street, blocking traffic for several hours.

STA employees were practicing driving the 5-ton truck when the accident occurred shortly before noon, said Ann Stone, a transit official supervising the cleanup.

The truck overturned in the southbound lanes of Market Street, where the arterial winds under a railroad overpass.

Police and STA authorities are investigating the accident. No injuries were reported.
