NEW FACES:

Mark Webb has joined Calkins Manufacturing Co. as district sales manager. Webb, who has more than 20 years of experience in marine manufacturing, is responsible for managing and developing Calkins’ dealer network in Washington, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and British Columbia.

Shelia Bledsoe has joined Aurora Marketing Group in Coeur d’Alene as art director. Prior to joining Aurora, Bledsoe had a graphic design business in Post Falls.

Vonnie Hutchison and Mark Yurashak have joined Coeur d’Alene Mortgage as loan officers. Hutchison has been a Realtor in Coeur d’Alene for the past six years.

Blue Shield of Idaho has appointed John Ruch vice president of health care services. He will be responsible for health care provider relations activities, health care reimbursement and information and will administer Medical Service Bureau of Idaho-Blue Shield HealthSense products. Prior to joining MSB-Blue Shield, Ruch was the chief executive officer of the Physicians’ Network in Portland.

John Falvey has joined Whitworth College’s Graduate Program in International Management as an associate professor. Falvey will teach management of multinational enterprises and financial decision-making in a global business environment. He has 20 years of experience in the financial community, and holds a doctoral degree in finance from The Union Institute.

Dave Milbrath, senior vice president of investments at D.A. Davidson’s Spokane office, has been named to the Great Falls, Mont.-based firm’s chairman’s advisory council.

Nancy Glines has joined Mortgage center of America as a loan officer, specializing in first-time home buyers. Glines previously worked for Tomlinson-Black Real Estate as a new construction specialist.

Metropolitan Mortgage & Securities has made the following staff additions:

Lesley Carlson, financial analyst, will assist with analyzing company departmental budgets. Carlson has both CFA and CPA designation.

Lynn Ciani, staff attorney, will focus on compliance and lending issues. Ciani received her law degree from Loyola Law School at Los Angeles and has been practicing law for more than eight years.

Fred Rewey is a new national production executive. Rewey was most recently with American Note Investments in California, and has an extensive background in buying and analyzing notes.

Robert Thomson, senior internal auditor, will oversee all internal audit operations and procedures. Thomson, a certified public accountant, previously worked for West One Bancorp as assistant vice president and senior examiner.

MOVING UP:

Sandra Kramer has been named executive director of Family Home Care, a department of Deaconess Medical Center. Kramer, a registered nurse, was a clinical supervisor at Family Home Care for three years prior to her new appointment.

Bob Takeshita, creative director at Wendt Advertising, has become a shareholder of the employee-owned agency. He joined the firm in July 1994.

Zak Designs has reorganized its mass market and gift/speciality sales divisions and has appointed the following executives:

Garry Kehr will head the mass market, gift/special markets/projects divisions as senior vice president. He had been vice president of sales for the mass market division.

Danny Dimont, formerly vice president of sales for the gift/specialty division, has been named vice president of sales-special markets and projects.

Ken Long has been promoted to vice president of sales-housewares for both the mass market and gift/specialty divisions. He previously was national sales manager for the mass market division.

Lloyd Herman has been promoted to assistant vice president of Mortgage Centers of America.

Doug Dumais has been promoted from senior investment executive to associate vice president-investment at D.A. Davidson & Co.’s Spokane office.

STARTING UP:

Gordon’s Jewelers has opened a store at NorthTown Mall. James Dimick, who has 10 years of experience in the jewelry industry, will manage the new store.

Inland Pacific Engineering Co. has opened an office at 2020 Lakewood Drive, suite 205, Coeur d’Alene. The office will be managed by Steve Solyts, professional engineer, and Jim Frame, professional land surveyor.

Goodale and Barbieri Cos. has opened a subsidized on-site child care facility for its employees. Christianne DeMarko was named director of the facility at 201 W. North River Drive.

J&L Meyer Enterprises Inc. has opened Simply Nails at 3813 N. Division. The manager of the Spokane store, J&L Meyer’s third, is Charlotte Wyma, who has been a trainer and lead nail technician for two years.

Schlotzsky’s Deli has opened a store at NorthTown Mall. Jane Payne, who has more than 20 years of experience in the food service industry, was named manager.

TRANSACTIONS:

Just Roses Franchising has been issued a license by the Department of Licensing Securities Division to sell Just Roses franchises. Lisa Wormington, vice president, initially plans to sell Just Roses in the Northwest.

MOVING:

The Clark Co. has moved to 30 E. Sprague, Suite A. Owner Ed Clark has been in the advertising and public relations business for more than 25 years. The phone number remains 838-4080.

All Lines Insurance North has moved to 1504 W. Northwest Blvd. Agents involved in the move include Brian Stephens, Lyman Haakstad, Gary Braun, Chris Roberts, Jan Haffner, Heather Lynch, Bill Skaer, Randy Ahmann and Terry Kelly.

KUDOS:

Best Western Thunderbird Inn has received the Best Western Director’s Award for outstanding quality standards in cleanliness and maintenance. It has been a Best Western member since 1967.

The Holiday Inn Express in Pullman received the 1995 Torchbearer’s Award for outstanding service. The Torchbearer’s Award is based on quality assurance, community relations and guest satisfaction.

The McGregor Co. of Colfax has given the Washington Agriculture and Forestry Education Foundation a grant of $2,500, which will be used to partially fund a position in the two-year leadership program.

Chateau Ste. Michelle has donated $250,000 to Washington State University. The gift will strengthen viticulture research to improve the quality of Washington wines.

ELECTED:

David Shea, president of Shea Construction, has been elected a national director of the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC). Shea has already served one term as a director, is active on several AGC of America national committees and is a past president of the Inland Northwest AGC.

Dr. David G. Peterson was named president-elect of the Washington State Dental Association. Peterson, who is a former president of the Spokane District Dental Society, began his practice in Spokane in 1974.

Dr. Mary K. Smith was named an American Dental Association delegate. She is a past president of the Spokane District Dental Society.

Dr. Clifton O. Caldwell was named an American Dental Association alternate delegate. He serves on the executive council of the Spokane District Dental Society.

Dr. Kevin A. King was elected an alternate delegate to the American Dental Association and was reappointed to a three-year term on the Executive Council of the Washington State Dental Association.

Gil Cook, DuPont project manager, Greenacres, was elected vice president of the Washington State Weed Association. Other officers include: Gary Pelter, WSU Ephrata Extension office, president; Bob Parker, WSU, Prosser, secretary.

CERTIFICATIONS:

Carol Williams of Trinity Universal Insurance Companies Northwest Region, recently received the National Association of Insurance Women’s Certified Professional Insurance Woman designation.

Guy Corrado, broker/owner of Coldwell Banker Corrado Realty, has earned his FASTSTART Instructor status. FASTSTART is the premier continuing education class at Coldwell Banker University.
