Lee Repeats As A-1’S Top Coach Peers Honor Post Falls Coach After Trojans’ Return To Semis
The success of the Post Falls High School football team has earned coach Jerry Lee respect statewide.
Lee, who guided a fourth straight team to the State A-1 Division II playoffs and second straight semifinal appearance, was honored by his peers as A-1 coach of the year.
The Idaho Statesman newspaper in Boise released all-state selections in four classifications in its Sunday editions. Due to a lack of interest, the Associated Press canceled its all-state selections two weeks ago.
Lee’s Trojans posted a second straight 9-2 record and captured the Inland Empire League championship.
The Trojans placed one player on the first team, senior offensive lineman Jeremy Wallace.
State runner-up Lewiston placed senior wide receiver Jim Farris and senior defensive back Chris Kenndy on the first team. Coeur d’Alene junior placekicker Ben Davis was also named to the first team.
State A-1 Division I champion Highland of Pocatello landed six players on the first team, while runner-up Nampa had four players honored.
Five Intermountain League players were named to the A-2 first team: Bonners Ferry senior running back Matt Myers and St. Maries senior running back Jason Hall, Lakeland senior offensive lineman Joe Brown, St. Maries senior offensive lineman Steve Raebel and Lakeland senior defensive lineman Eric Conklin.
