South Africans Win Marathon

Josiah Thungwane of South Africa outkicked defending champion Benson Masya at the finish to win the Honolulu Marathon in a time of 2 hours, 16 minutes and 8 seconds. Masya, of Kenya, was 11 seconds behind.

Colleen De Reuck, originally of Durbin, South Africa, led the women in 2:37:29.
