Tekoa-Oakesdale succeeded Tuesday in stopping Wilbur-Creston scoring leader Jessica Martin.

Yet W-C (6-0) proved that it has more than Martin.

Mindy Bandy scored 20 and Holly Arden made two 3-pointers late in the third quarter to squelch a rally as the visiting Wildcats stopped T-O 65-42 in a non-league game at Oakesdale.

Martin was held to six points but had eight rebounds. W-C, fifth at state last year, shot 48 percent from the floor and held the Nighthawks (3-2) to 28 percent.

Sally Palmer had eight rebounds for T-O, last year’s state runner-up.
