Actor Among Owners
A majority interest in the Butte Copper Kings Pioneer League baseball franchise has been sold to a group that includes St. Paul Saints owner Mike Veeck and entertainer Bill Murray.
Veeck, who confirmed the sale, is son of the late Bill Veeck, who built a reputation for staging crowd-pleasing promotions as owner of the Chicago White Sox, Cleveland Indians and St. Louis Browns major-league teams at different times.
Murray was a member of the original “Saturday Night Live” television cast and has starred in several movie comedies, including “Caddy Shack,” “Stripes” and “Ground Hog Day.”
