Baby Recovered Safely After Cape Cod Kidnap
A mental patient who claimed Tony Curtis’ son told her to kidnap a 4-month-old baby on Cape Cod was arrested Tuesday, and the infant was rescued in good condition, authorities said.
An off-duty firefighter who had been following the story on television spotted Jacqueline Seviour in a car in this Boston suburb, about 60 miles from the Cape, and called police, said state Trooper Peter Robdau.
Police pulled her over in her car, where they found the baby, who had been abducted on Monday.
The 23-year-old woman, who disappeared from a mental hospital last week, “was a little wacked out,” Robdau said. “She kept saying Tony Curtis’ son told her to do it.” Curtis’ son, Nicholas, lived on Cape Cod and died of a drug overdose last year.
Seviour faces kidnapping and other charges.
