Creative Writing Page Moves To Jan. 3

Hear ye! Hear ye! Our Generation’s creative writing page, originally scheduled to appear on Dec. 20, will run on Jan. 3 instead. Look for your poems and short stories then. Have any questions? Call 459-5456.

Who needs snow? Sick of winter dreariness? Excited to splash about in warm, sun-baked water? Well, here’s your chance to experience some summer fun over the winter holiday.

The Spokane Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring a Holiday Pool Party Dec. 23 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Shadle Indoor Pool. All ages are invited to participate in games, swimming and music, and all will be supervised by an experienced lifeguard staff.

Children under 18 pay only 50 cents, and all others pay $1.50. Join in the fun and brighten up the cold winter months!

Get involved: The “Your Choice, Not Chance” Teen Pregnancy Prevention teen advisory group is recruiting new members. It’s a diverse group representing schools and teen organizations who give input into the development and implementation of the program. If you’re interested in getting involved, call Lisa from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Thursday, at 324-1460.

Also, Planned Parenthood’s education department will be forming peer groups at high schools throughout Spokane to discover what teens want to know about goal setting, decision-making and sexuality education. Call 326-6292, ext. 103, for more information.
