Post Falls Uses Full-Court Press To Top Lakeland

Post Falls used full-court pressure late in the game and forced visiting Lakeland into 14 turnovers in the fourth quarter to win 59-48 in non-league boys basketball.

The Trojans were led by Chad Quesnell with 20 points, including 12 in the fourth quarter.

The Hawks were up by two points at the end of the third quarter but couldn’t hold on despite 17-point efforts from Eric Singer and Paul Kowalczyk.

Lakeland committed 32 turnovers, compared to only eight for Post Falls.

Austin Lee scored 12 points and had a team-high 11 rebounds to shore up the Trojans’ interior play.

David Schillinger scored 28 points as the visiting Eagles ended the Wildcats’ 21-game home winning streak. Kellogg is ranked No. 1 among Idaho A-2 teams.

Kellogg stayed close for only a quarter as West Valley overcame 25 points from the Wildcats’ Casey Fisher to pull away.

Despite being outrebounded 44-17, the Lumberjacks came away with a non-league victory over the Miners.

St. Maries got 17 points and 12 rebounds from Mark Raebel, who led the team in both categories.

The Miners used a 21-point third quarter to get within two points, but the Lumberjacks pulled away in the fourth quarter.

The Knights came back from an 18-point deficit to defeat the visiting Mustangs in a non-league contest.

Lakeside (5-1) was led by Dan Montague with 13 points.

The Cardinals came from 10 points down with 2 minutes to play, but came up short when a Stephen Preston layup that would have tied the game didn’t fall with 2 seconds remaining to give the Warriors their first victory of the year.

Kootenai (1-3) got 14 points apiece from Joe Lamb, Scott Johns and Paul Dione. North Idaho Christian (2-1) was led by Preston with 21 points and Brandon Koontz with 20. The Cardinals are in their first year of boys basketball.
