Jiffy Biffy Is Easy To Carry On Any Trip
Product: Brief Relief
Description: A 2-ounce bag measuring 8 inches in length and 6 inches wide containing a powdered polymer and enzyme.
Pro: It turns fluid waste into a lemon-scented gel that is spillproof and leakproof and encased in a very sturdy, tearproof plastic pouch with secure-clip top. May be simply thrown out in an ordinary trash can. Stows easily in a glove compartment, day pack, ammo can or pack until needed. Brief relief is the perfect answer to restroom emergencies that occur while on the road, on the water and away from home. The lip of the bag contains a stiffening rod with a special inverted cone design so that liquids can easily go in, but cannot spill out. The design of the Brief Relief pouch makes it easy for men to urinate on the go, and relatively easy (although more conspicuous) for women. Easily holds up to 12 fluid ounces of liquid waste - if you’ve consumed a six-pack, carry a couple of bags! Comes with a wet wipe for sanitation afterward.
Con: The one thing that is missing from this packet is a small pouch of dry chlorine to act as a sterilizing agent for additional disease and microbe control. Since the enzyme powder is packaged loose in the bag, some powder does leak out into the outer plastic packaging. Use caution when opening the bag as in one instance, when I was rapidly tearing the bag, some powder did find its way into my eyes, irritating them mildly. The manufacturer tells me there is no chemical hazard to humans at all, however.
Comments: Developed for the telecommunications industry as a means to meet sanitation requirements in manhole work areas, it now is finding its way into the outdoor recreation and travel markets too, and logically so. The Brief Relief system offers an ideal way for families with young children and outdoor adventurers on the go with no easy way to immediately and sanitarily urinate find relief. This makes an excellent addition to a disaster preparedness kit. The company also offers a larger bag and system designed to accommodate solid waste.
Suggested Retail: $30 for a package of 10.
