Man Faces Charge Of Attempted Murder

A Friday night fight at the Silverlake Motel led to charges of attempted murder, Coeur d’Alene police said Saturday.

Details of the 10:10 p.m. incident are unclear. According to a police statement, Brien Golden reportedly tried to break up a fight, using pepper spray and then a 45mm handgun. He was later charged with the attempted murder of Matt Harmon, who was treated for multiple gunshot wounds.

Harmon was listed in satisfactory condition at Kootenai Medical Center late Saturday.

Neither man’s age or hometown was released on Saturday. The incident is still being investigated, police said.
