Spokane Bounces Back To Beat Centralia

College women

After falling behind 15-2, Community Colleges of Spokane got stingy on defense and held Centralia to just 12 points over the final 12 minutes of the first half and cruised to a win at the Olympic Crossover tournament at Bremerton, Wash.

While Kelly Gaines of CCS scored a game-high 21 points, the Sasquatch (3-4) provided strong bench support as nine players got in the scoring column.

Spokane led Centralia 26-20 and were never threatened in the second half.

Central Valley High graduate Kristin Hepton had a game-high 12 rebounds for Portland and teammate Wendy Toonen led the Pilots with 18 points as they defeated Idaho (2-5) in a non-conference game in Moscow, Idaho.

Deana Lansing and Laura Sale chipped in 15 and 12 points, respectively, for the Pilots (5-2), who handed Idaho its third straight loss at Memorial Gym.
