Becker To Sit Out Olympics
Olympic doubles tennis champion Boris Becker said he won’t defend his title in Atlanta next year.
“I will definitely not play at the Olympic Games in Atlanta. Neither in singles nor doubles,” Becker said. “I have personal reasons.”
Becker made the comment at the SAT 1 television studio in an interview taped for showing Friday night.
The three-time Wimbledon champion who turned 28 last month, won the Olympic doubles championship at the 1992 Barcelona Games, paired with countryman Michael Stich.
