Louisville Loses Two Starters

No. 25 Louisville will face cross-state rival Kentucky on Saturday without two academically ineligible players and an assistant coach.

Coach Denny Crum said he was disappointed that forwards Jason Osborne and Alex Sanders will remain ineligible because of university academic standards, but the team has been preparing to play without them.

The university also announced that assistant coach Larry Gay has been temporarily suspended with pay, while the school completes an internal investigation.

Chris Gatling of the Golden State Warriors and Don MacLean of the Denver Nuggets were suspended for one game each and fined by the NBA for fighting.

Gatling was fined $5,000, MacLean $3,500.
