Richard Felber Coeur d’Alene

Memorial service for Richard James Felber, 80, will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene.

Mr. Felber, who was born in Stevensville, Mont., died Thursday.

He moved to Spokane in 1931 and graduated from John Rogers High School. He attended Washington State University on a football scholarship and transferred to Eastern Washington University, graduating in 1938 with a degree in education.

He was a teacher and coach and worked in Coulee City, Prescott and Colfax, Wash. He also was a substitute teacher in Coeur d’Alene.

He retired in 1977 and moved to Sandpoint. He married Jean Weaver in 1981 and moved to Coeur d’Alene.

Mr. Felber was an instructor with the National Rifle Association and was inducted into the Washington State Wrestling Coaches Hall of Fame in 1989. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, Masonic Lodge and the National Guard.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Richard of Olympia, Grant of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Aaron, at home; three daughters, Kristin Largent of Worley, Idaho, Linda Felber of Oregon and Moria Felber at home; one brother, Robert of Fairfield; four sisters, Barbara Pelk and Joye Lamont, both of Spokane, Lorraine Barnes of California, and Helen Hanna of Sandpoint; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Raleigh Neff St. Maries

Service for Raleigh A. Neff, 75, will be today at 2 p.m. at Yates-Hodge Funeral Home in St. Maries. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in St. Maries.

Mr. Neff, who was born in Fairfield, Ill., died Thursday.

He was a career military man and served in the Navy during World War II, and the Korean and Vietnam wars.

He married Phyllis Callahan in 1945. They divorced in 1953.

Mr. Neff retired from the military in 1964. He moved to St. Maries in 1992.

Mr. Neff was a member of Faith Tabernacle Church in Post Falls, the St. Maries Elks Lodge and the American Legion.

Survivors include two sons, Eddy Neff of Post Falls and Tony Caliger of California; three brothers, Raymond of St. Maries, and Charles and Cecil, both of Illinois; and seven grandchildren.
