‘My Wish … A Lot Of Peace And A Lot Of Snow’

Woodridge Elementary

We asked North Side schoolchildren to share their hopes for the new year. Here’s what the fourth-graders in Judy Looper’s fourth-grade class at Woodridge Elementary told us:

Shanelle Vega: My wish would be a lot of peace and a lot of snow.

Ryan Enquist: I wish for all of the world to be free, and live in a warm house.

Joey Paulson: I wish for the war in Bosnia to stop.

Leslie Shrode: My wish for 1996 is that everybody has a house.

Matthew McLendon: I wish that there would be no more cigarettes in the world.

Ashley Olzendam: My wish for 1996 is for crime to stop around the world.

Jason Hansen: I hope the war in Bosnia will stop and have peace on earth.

Amanda Doran: Snow so the ski places will open up so I can ski.

Jesse Miller: No war in Bosnia, and I want snow!

Ryan Egger: I wish that the peace agreement will be final in Bosnia.

Stacia Gray: My wish for the New Year is for everybody to stop using bad drugs.

Jessica Cardswell: My wish for the New Year is for the kids in Bosnia to sleep without fear!!

Jared Bjerkestrand: I want my dad to have more days off.

Hilary Douglas: My wish is that homeless people could (have) homes, food, and warm things to wear.

Chris McGovern: I wish I could be on an ice hockey team.

Lindsey Moen: If I could make a (wish) for the New Year, I would wish for people to stop making and smoking cigarettes.

Ryan Heth: My wish would be to get the homeless people off the streets so they can have a merry Christmas!!!

Gregory Benjamin: My wish is that all of the homeless people would get a job, money, food, water and shelter so they can live and have lots of peace!

Sandra Vallejo: My wish for the New Year is for it to snow on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!

Steven Smith: I wish that they would ban drugs.

Alex Pupo: My wish for the New Year is that people from the street had a good home, plenty of food, and nice warm clothes for the winter.

Daniel Blohowiak: My wish for the new year is that the war in Bosnia will stop before Christmas.

Bryce Hollenbeck: My wish for a New Year is to get the people off the streets and get in homes.

Stephanie Hart: I wish there was no crime in the world.

Colin Alexander: I wish for world peace.
