Compiled From Wire Services

Ohio State University athletic director Andy Geiger confirmed that the Buckeyes have signed a five-year agreement with Nike that will provide apparel, footwear and equipment for the athletic program’s 34 sports, nationwide marketing of OSU-licensed athletic apparel and financial compensation for other athletic department initiatives.

Geiger declined to reveal the value of the package, but it was learned it is worth between $9 and $10 million. It is the most lucrative contract between a collegiate athletic program and an apparel supplier.

UCLA offensive coordinator Bob Toledo and defensive coordinator Bob Field interviewed for the vacant Bruins’ head coaching job two days after the team played its final game under Terry Donahue.

Wayne Moses, a four-year letterman at Washington in the late 1970s, was hired as a running backs coach at California.
