Abortion Supporters Remember Victims

Associated Press

One year after a gunman killed two women at suburban Boston abortion clinics, more than 1,000 people gathered Saturday to remember the victims and support the abortion rights cause.

“Our family was reduced from five to four people overnight. We will be trying to walk around the void that is left by her absence,” said Meghan Lowney, whose sister, receptionist Shannon Lowney, was hit by five bullets in the attack at Planned Parenthood.

The shootings also killed Lee Ann Nichols, who worked as a receptionist at Preterm Health Services.

John C. Salvi III is charged with the Dec. 30, 1994, shootings.
