Fire Destroys Home

From Staff And Wire Reports

A suspicious fire destroyed the home of an Eagle, Idaho, family early Friday, authorities said.

A neighbor spotted the house in flames and called for help sometime between 5 and 6 a.m., said Mitch Alexander, a Shoshone County deputy sheriff.

Melvin Harbison was in the house at the time of the fire but managed to get out without injury. His wife, Valerie, and their child weren’t home, Alexander said. Volunteer firefighters couldn’t save the house.

Alexander wouldn’t say how the suspicious fire was set.

No other information was available late Friday.
