Man Shoots, Kills Intruder

A tenant shot and killed a man who broke into his basement-level apartment early Sunday, King County police said.

The shooting happened shortly after 4 a.m. at a home north of Seattle. A man in his 20s or 30s broke into the basement, which was being rented to a 40-year-old male tenant, police said.

The tenant confronted the intruder and shot him with a small-caliber handgun. It wasn’t immediately clear if the intruder was armed.
