Calvin Parr St. Maries

No service is planned for Calvin C. Parr, 69, at his request. Yates-Hodge Funeral Home in St. Maries is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Parr, who died Wednesday, was born and raised in Pocatello, Idaho.

He enlisted in the Navy in 1943 and served in the China-Burma and South Pacific theaters during World War II. He also served in the Korean War. He was discharged in 1954.

Mr. Parr worked as a transportation technician in Mount Pelier, Idaho, Pasco and Pocatello.

He retired in 1985 and moved to Santa, Idaho, where he built his own home.

Mr. Parr was a member of the Mount Pelier Veterans of Foreign Wars Post.

He married Bonnie Bateman in 1946. They later divorced.

He married Doris Davis in 1975.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Wade Parr of Kuna, Idaho, and Boyd Parr of Soda Springs, Idaho; a daughter, Nola Stehwerry of Soda Springs; a stepson, Dee Thompson of Pocatello; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Vernon Strom Spokane

Service for Vernon A. “Vern” Strom, 64, is planned for 11 a.m. Monday at Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home followed by burial at Fairmount Memorial Park.

Mr. Strom, an Army veteran, died Monday.

Born in Miles City, Mont., he moved to Spokane 37 years ago.

A mason, he was a 35-year member of Laborers Union Local 238.

Survivors include his companion of 25 years, Mary Ellen Gerner; two stepchildren, Norm and Valery Anderson, both of Spokane; a sister, Doris Walther of Spokane; a brother, Robert Strom of Spokane; and three grandchildren.

Frances Lange Spokane

Memorial service for Frances L. Lange, 93, is planned for 3 p.m. Saturday at Moran United Methodist Church followed by burial at Moran Prairie Cemetery. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home South is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Lange, a lifetime Spokane area resident, died Monday.

She graduated from Lewis and Clark High School and worked for Jacobson’s Greenhouse. She retired in 1962.

Mrs. Lange was a member of Moran Prairie United Methodist Church and was a 50-year member of the Moran Prairie Grange. She served on the Moran Prairie Cemetery Board and was on the election board.

She was also a member of Women of the Moose.

Her husband, Max Lange, preceded her in death.

Survivors include two nieces.

Joseph O’Brien Colville, Wash.

Service for Joseph A. `Joe’ O’Brien, 81, is planned for 2 p.m. today at the Word of God Christian Center in Colville followed by graveside service at the Mountain View Park Cemetery. Danekas Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. O’Brien died Tuesday.

He was born in Eureka, Mont., and moved with his family to Colville when he was 8.

He worked for many years cutting railroad ties with his father. Then he worked as a heavy-equipment operator for the state Highway Department, retiring after 41 years.

He was a member of the Word of God Christian Center.

Survivors include his wife Bertha; four daughters, Peggy Faucett of Deer Park, JoAnn Lange of Minnesota, and Ruth Bruneau and Judy Curtiss, both of Colville; two sons, Don O’Brien of Colville and Gary O’Brien of Kennewick; a brother, Louie O’Brien of Valley, Wash.; a sister, Tiny Mullen of Olympia; 29 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren.

Lyman Cade Spokane

Memorial service for Lyman E. Cade, 72, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Riplinger Funeral Home.

Mr. Cade, a Korean War veteran, died Tuesday.

Born in Sandborn, Ind., he moved to Spokane in 1946.

He worked as a fireman for Kaiser Aluminum-Trentwood for 37 years before retiring in 1985.

His wife, Lucille Cade, preceded him in death.

Survivors include a sister, Marian Stapay of Seattle; a brother, Curt Cade of Spokane; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lila Shaw Spokane

Committal service for Lila May Shaw, 83, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Pines Cemetery followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at Opportunity Presbyterian Church. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Shaw died Wednesday.

Born in Calgary, Alberta, she moved to Spokane 70 years ago.

She was a member of Opportunity Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Dale Shaw; a daughter, Beverly Gibson of Spokane; two sons, Roy Shaw of Maggie Valley, N.C., and Richard Shaw of Federal Way, Wash.; three sisters, Myrtle O’Brien of Seattle, Mary Ann Rencehausen of Spokane, and Vera Berglund of Fairfield, Mont.; nine grandchildren and 16 greatgrandchildren.

Memorial gifts may be made to Opportunity Presbyterian Church.

Fred Bundy Spokane

Graveside service for Fred A. Bundy, 90, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Fairmount Memorial Park. Hazen & Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Bundy died Tuesday.

Born in Eugene, Ore., he moved to Spokane 50 years ago.

He worked for Kaiser AluminumMead for 24 years and was an honorary member of the United Steel Workers.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Gladene Bundy; two daughters, Dorene Harter of Otis Orchards and Sheree Louise Mitchell of London; a brother, Jesse Bundy of Spokane; seven grandchildren and two greatgranddaughters.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.

Viola Feighner Spokane

Memorial service for Viola A. Feighner, 84, was Wednesday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Burial was held at Fairmount Memorial Park. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home North was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Feighner died Saturday. Born in Indiana, she moved to Spokane in 1936. She worked for NAPA Auto Parts for 22 years, retiring in 1975.

Mrs. Feighner was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and the Sinto Senior Citizens Center.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, E.G. “Bud” Feighner; two sons, Burwell Feighner and Neal Feighner, both of Spokane; two brothers, Melvin Roemer and Herbert Roemer, both of Woodburn, Ind.; three sisters, Laura Ehle and Erna Smith, both of New Haven, Ind., and Nadine Schmidt of Auburn, Ind.; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Eileen King Spokane

Vigil service for Eileen A. King, 59, was Thursday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. today at St. Aloysius Catholic Church. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of cremation and arrangements.

Mrs. King, a lifetime Spokane resident, died Tuesday. She graduated from Marycliff High School and from nursing school.

Mrs. King worked for Sacred Heart Medical Center for over 27 years. She also operated Serin Dipity Floral Shop. She was a member of the Catholic Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Terri Troyer of Spokane; two sons, Bruce King and Jeff King, both of Spokane; four sisters, Hazel Beaulieu, Shirley Beaulieu, Sister Margaret Beaulieu and Heloise McGrath, all of Spokane; a sister, Ann Sylvester of Walla Walla; a brother, Dan Beaulieu of San Dimas, Calif.; three grandchildren and one stepgranddaughter.

Roy Payne Spokane

Service for Roy Timothy Payne, 72, is planned for 11 a.m. today at New Hope Baptist Church followed by burial at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Payne, a veteran of the Canadian Army, died Monday. He was born in Rutland, British Columbia, and was raised in Canada.

He moved to Spokane in 1969 and worked as a custodian for the Spokane Humane Society.

Survivors include wife of 25 years, Brenda Payne; a daughter, Tabatha Payne of Spokane; and a half-brother, Clyde Hamilton of British Columbia.

Glenn Staeheli Spokane

Memorial service for Glenn A. Staeheli, 72, will be at 2 p.m. today at Trinity Baptist Church. Riplinger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Staeheli, who died Monday, was born in Spokane. He attended North Central High School and graduated from Washington State University.

He served in the Navy from 1944-46 and then worked for the Northern Pacific and Burlington Northern railroads for 39 years.

Following his retirement, he worked for the American Association of Railroads Testing Center.

Mr. Staeheli was active in the PTA, the Boy Scouts and Toastmasters. He was a member of the National Railway Fuel and Operating Officers Association, Explorers, Eastern Washington Book Review Council, and his church.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Alice May Staeheli; three sons, Dr. Bruce Staeheli of Seattle, Paul Staeheli of Spokane, and David Staeheli of Anchorage, Alaska; two daughters, Lois Munson of Junction City, Ore., and Dr. Lynn Staeheli of Boulder, Colo.; a sister, Pauline Hagan of Spokane; and six grandchildren.
