Spokane Man, 31, Charged With Rape

A 31-year-old Spokane man was charged with rape after a naked woman escaped from his home and ran for help early Saturday in northwest Spokane, police said.

Police arrested Thomas S. Austin, N5622 E.

The woman told police she and a friend had been at a restaurant Friday evening. She said her friend introduced her to Austin, who said he would drive her home.

But, she told police, he drove her to his home instead, demanded sex and attacked her when she refused.

The woman ran north on E Street about 3 a.m. Saturday and knocked on several doors before someone in the north 5800 block called police.
