Kuchenmeister Spurs Republic

After scoring just four points in the first half, John Kuchenmeister poured in 20 in the second as Republic defeated St. George’s 58-54 in the Panorama League Tournament on Thursday night at Kettle Falls.

The Tigers will be the third seed in next week’s Northeast B Tournament while the Dragons earned the fourth spot.

Nicky Swan scored 10 of her 21 points in the fourth quarter as the Hornets (17-4) overcame an eight-point fourthquarter deficit to beat the Rangers (6-17) for the district tournament’s third seed.

Swan hit two 3-pointers in the game’s final 2 minutes while teammate Chas Watt added eight fourth-quarter points.
