Firefighters Rescue Stranded Hikers
About a dozen firefighters from the Valley Fire Department spent four hours Sunday night rescuing three stranded hikers south of Liberty Lake.
The three hikers were taken to Valley Hospital and Medical Center about 10:30 p.m. Their names were not released.
One suffered from hypothermia; the others weren’t injured, according to the hospital.
The hikers had walked about five miles south of the lake. A park ranger notified the Fire Department that the three were in trouble.
