Boise State’s Michelle Schultz has been named the Big Sky Conference women’s basketball player of the week.

Schultz, a 5-9 junior from Post Falls, led her team to victories over Northern Arizona (74-61) and Weber State (73-51) to secure a berth in the Big Sky Tournament.

She averaged 28.5 points while shooting 58 percent from the field and 82 percent from the free-throw line. She also averaged four steals and four assists.

UCLA forward Ed O’Bannon was named the Pacific-10 Conference men’s player of the week.

The 6-foot-8 senior led the Bruins to an 82-77 overtime victory over Arizona State last Thursday with 22 points, seven rebounds and three steals.

O’Bannon also had a career-high 31 points and 10 rebounds in UCLA’s 72-70 victory over Arizona on Sunday.
