Teen Arrested On Assault Charge
Spokane police arrested a 16-year-old boy in connection with an assault, an arson attempt and vandalism.
A resident in the S500 block of Cedar told police his stepson was prowling the area and tore down a fence. In addition, firefighters found evidence of attempted arson at the house.
Less than an hour later, two police officers responded to a call of broken windows at a business in the S800 block of Monroe. A witness saw the youth in the area shortly after the windows were broken and noticed a cut on his hand.
The 16-year-old was treated at a Spokane hospital and released, police said.
Police found the youth and arrested him on an assault charge after victims identified him. Earlier in the night, two of his acquaintances told police he attacked them when they asked him to leave the home where one of them lives.
The boy was booked into the county’s juvenile detention center and released about 5:30 a.m. Just after his release, he collapsed apparently from a drug reaction and was taken to a hospital for treatment, police said.
