Coupons Coming

There’s a prize inside Spokane’s March utility bills. The Solid Waste Department is sending out 60,000 coupons worth $20 each to residents with city garbage accounts.

In past years, the coupons could be used only at transfer stations, but this year residents also can put them toward curbside collection.

Residents can either use the coupon for $20 off their tipping fee or apply it to their garbage bill once they’re charged for the extra bags.

The coupon can’t be used to pay regular monthly garbage charges. No credit will be given if the charge for extra bags falls below $20.

The coupons expire Dec. 31.
