Nuclear Power Plant Back On Line
The state’s only commercial nuclear power plant returned to operation Thursday, ending a five-day outage, the Washington Public Power Supply System said.
Plant No. 2 automatically shut down last Saturday when an error was made during monthly tests of the turbine throttle valves.
Before the shutdown, the nuclear power plant had run for 204 consecutive days, WPPSS said.
A 42-day maintenance and refueling outage is scheduled to begin in April.
The supply system delivers power to the Bonneville Power Administration.
