Shopko Almost Ready For South Hill Opening

After six months of construction, ShopKo will open an 88,000-square-foot store March 7 on the South Hill.

The new store, S4515 Regal, will employ 150 full- and part-time workers. The new ShopKo, the first full-line discount store on the South Hill, will include a pharmacy and optical health care service center.

“Construction is complete for the most part. We’re basically merchandising - stocking the shelves,” store manager Fred Jakubek said.

The South Hill store is the third ShopKo in Spokane County. Other stores are at N9520 Newport Highway and E13414 Sprague.

ShopKo, based in Green Bay, Wis., has 132 stores in 13 states.
