Tacoma Man Killed In Snowmobiling Accident

From Staff And Wire Reports

A 44-year-old Tacoma man was killed when he lost control of a snowmobile and tumbled down a hillside, King County Police reported Monday.

Gregory Henderson was fatally injured Sunday along a Forest Service road about 15 miles east of Greenwater. Henderson had taken his 14-year-old son and a 13-year-old female friend of the family snowmobiling when he lost control of the vehicle on a steep, sharp curve, police said.

The snowmobile tumbled down a hillside covered with tree stumps and rocky outcroppings.

The girl alerted other snowmobilers, one of whom called rescuers on a cellular phone.

The teens were taken to a hospital in Enumclaw, where the boy was treated for internal injuries, police said. Their names were not immediately available.
