Abortion Clinics Seeing Patients Again

Compiled From Wire Services

Two abortion clinics where a gunman killed two women and wounded five other people 10 days ago are starting to see patients again.

Planned Parenthood reopened Friday; Preterm Health Services was to open Monday.

Most of the Preterm workers have a “spirit of renewed dedication,” said a clinic spokeswoman, Sue, who would not give her last name for security reasons.

But “there are some who may be taking some days to think about whether they’ll return,” she said Sunday.

Nicki Nichols Gamble, president of the Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts, said the staff at the clinic was scared, but the patients so far appeared to be reassured by increased security.
