Colleges Commemorate King
Spokane’s two community colleges are kicking off a week of special events to commemorate the life of Martin Luther King Jr.
The Rev. Percy Watkins, pastor of the New Hope Baptist Church, will recite King’s “I Have a Dream” speech at 11:30 a.m. today. The event will be in the main lounges of the Student Union Building at Spokane Falls Community College.
Also today, actor and script writer Craig Alan Edwards will put on a one-man play titled, “The Long Road to Memphis,” at 11:30 a.m. in the Lair at Spokane Community College.
