Federated Plans To Eliminate Store Group

Federated Department Stores Inc. said Tuesday it will eliminate its Abraham & Straus store group to concentrate on merchandising for three other divisions.

The A&S stores will become Macy’s, Stern’s or Bloomingdale’s stores by the end of May.
