Sandpoint’s Lawrence Named Top Wrestler

Brett Lawrence of Sandpoint was named the outstanding wrestler Saturday and host Lewiston won the team title with 226 points at the Clearwater Classic.

Lawrence won the 119-pound championship 7-4. His Bulldogs, with 154 points, finished in second place.

Coeur d’Alene (119 points) finished sixth, led by Josh Curran’s championship with a major decision at 275. Shawn Gust of Lake City won the 135-pound title 8-3.

With five individual championship, the host Badgers outdistanced Eureka (Mont.) 178-136.5 for the team title at the Bonners Ferry Invitational.
